Creating a Garden

In his exclusive talk, award-winning garden designer and Gardeners’ World presenter Adam Frost shares the key steps he takes in designing any space and how he has used these to redesign his own garden in Lincolnshire. He will reveal his sources of inspiration and explain how he utilised elements of his seven Chelsea gold-medal-winning gardens.

Weaving in the story of how he came from a parks department apprenticeship, to working for Geoff Hamilton, and then setting up his own design studio, Adam’s talk will give a personal snapshot of his home, life and approach to design. He will also share future plans for the development of his own garden.

Dine and Explore

Following your talk with Adam Frost you’ll be led by one of HRH The Prince of Wales’s expert guides on a 75 minute garden tour, where you’ll learn about the history of the estate while taking in the key highlights of the gardens, including breathtaking displays of Spring bulbs.

After your tour, you’ll enjoy a glass of Highgrove Champagne and be seated in the beautiful setting of the Orchard Restaurant for afternoon tea freshly prepared by Highgrove’s resident chefs.

Head Gardener, Debs Goodenough, will join guests to talk about her role at the gardens, including the development of the estate over the last 39 years, and what to expect on your tour.

About Adam Frost

Adam Frost’s love of the great outdoors was nurtured from a young age helping out on his grandparent’s allotment, where he would enjoy watching plants and vegetables grow and the wildlife it attracted. Adam, who is an RHS Ambassador, is passionate about encouraging people, both young and old, to appreciate a love of plants and wildlife. Professionally trained in horticulture and landscape design, Adam started working with gardening greats early on in his career, such as Geoff Hamilton, who he helped to design the thirty-eight small gardens used as locations for the BBC’s Gardeners’ World weekly broadcast.

In the last 20 years Adam has sprung into the public eye, with TV appearances including the BBC’s The One Show, the Alan Titchmarsh Show, Tatton Park Flower Show, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and BBC2’s Gardeners’ World. With an impressive seven gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show to look back on, including a ‘Best in Show Urban Garden’ in 2008, Adam had plenty of experience to put down on paper when writing his new book, entitled ‘Real Gardens’ all about his award-winning designs.

Adam and his wife Sulina live in a picturesque Lincolnshire village with their four children, one horse, two ponies, two dogs and their very old cat… and their five acre garden is regularly featured on Gardeners’ World as a work-in-progress.
