Store precious items and jewellery away in this beautifully handmade Jali box, made by skilled artisans in Afghanistan. Each design is handcrafted from locally sourced walnut wood and has its own colour variation, making each piece feel unique.

The Jali boxes from Turquoise Mountain, an Afghan initiative founded in 2006 by HRH The Prince of Wales to support craftsmanship, education, and health, feature wooden lattice panels that can be found on buildings throughout Kabul's old city. These screens, known locally as jali, are made by joining hundreds of intricate wooden joints. Afghan craftspeople cut the pieces of wood by eye because every cut must be perfect, or else the entire structure will be disjointed.
