About Rachel De Thame
An avid gardener since childhood, Rachel trained at The English Gardening School and has been a regular presenter on BBC2’s Gardeners’ World since 1999. She reports from all the major RHS Flower Shows and has contributed to many other gardening programmes for both the BBC and ITV.
The author of three gardening books, Rachel is a gardening columnist on the Sunday Times and The Garden Magazine for the RHS, and regularly writes for BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine.
Her award-winning design projects have included the LK Bennett Garden at Chelsea Flower Show 2008 and the floral decorations for the Royal Barge, which conveyed Her Majesty The Queen during the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012. In great demand as a speaker Rachel has given lectures at The Ashmolean Museum, Highgrove, Hever Castle and Charleston among others.
Vice President of wild flower charity Plantlife and a keen supporter of Perennial – the gardeners’ charity and Flowers from the Farm - the network for the UK’s cut flower growers. She is an advocate for the power of gardening to help with our physical and mental well-being.
