Enjoy a talk from one of the UK’s most exciting young garden designers, Matt Keightley, as he shares his experience of creating an award-winning show garden for Prince Harry's Sentebale charity, along with a delicious champagne afternoon tea and guided garden tour of Highgrove.

Life Beyond the Shows -

A Story from Clarence House to Lesotho

From meeting Prince Harry at Clarence House to travelling to Africa to see first-hand the work of Sentebale, Matt Keightley tells the tale of how the ‘Hope in Vulnerability’ garden was created for RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2015.

The show garden, which brought to life the native landscape of Lesotho, was designed to raise awareness of Sentebale’s charitable work; providing healthcare and education to Lesotho’s most vulnerable children, many of whom are victims of extreme poverty and have been affected by Lesotho’s HIV/AIDs epidemic.

Drawing on his wealth of first-hand knowledge and experience, Matt will uncover the trials and tribulations of designing a garden for Chelsea, including the secrets of presenting several thousand immaculate plants for just one week in May.

Dine and Explore

Following your talk with Matt you’ll be led by one of HRH The Prince of Wales’s expert garden guides on a 75 minute garden tour, where you’ll learn about the history of the estate while taking in the key highlights of the gardens, including breathtaking displays of Spring bulbs.

After your tour, you’ll enjoy a glass of Highgrove Champagne and be seated in the beautiful setting of the Orchard Restaurant for afternoon tea, freshly prepared by the estate’s resident chefs.
