The craftspeople at Burleigh Pottery have been making high-quality ceramics in England for over 160 years. Recognised for their dedication to fine craftsmanship and traditional manufacturing, they have used the same techniques for generations. Burleigh is the last pottery in the world to use the traditional and timeless skill of underglaze tissue printing, which is an English process dating back more than 200 years. Burleigh also produces Highgrove’s exclusive ‘Hens’ and ‘Chickens’ china ranges, of which each piece is handled by 25 pairs of hands to finish.
Celebrated artist Paul Jenkins crafts beautiful ceramic sculptures using Raku techniques - the ancient Japanese art of firing ceramics. Every sculpture produces is 100% unique due to the nature of this handmade process, where each piece is fired in a small Raku kiln before being immersed in sawdust to create smoke and flames. The final finish is a beautiful, crackled effect which Paul has become renowned for, along with his natural designs which have been inspired by his love of nature, especially animals.
