Making the compost: Place the peat-free compost pellet in a suitable mixing container and add 350ml of lukewarm water. Allow to stand and expand for 30-60 minutes, drain off any excess water and mix the compost well. You may have more compost than you require, and more water could be required if the compost mix is looking dry.
Planting instructions: Plant from August onwards. Half fill the planter with compost and place the bulbs with the nose upright. Cover with more compost. Water sparingly so the compost is moist. Be careful not to overwater. Place the planter in a dark and dry position (7-9°C). When the shoots are 5-10cm tall (after approx. 10-12 weeks), place the planter in a bright, warm room (18–20°C), keeping the compost moist at all times but being careful not to overwater. Once in bloom, move to a cool position to prolong life and turn the planter occasionally.
