Explore the gardens

After being greeted by the Gardeners' World Magazine team on your arrival at Highgrove, you’ll take a 90-minute guided tour to discover the beautiful and inspiring gardens. You’ll be guided through the evolution of these private gardens, with fascinating stories about their development, including insights into family life on the estate. You’ll find out how His Majesty The King Charles III has crafted each amazing space from scratch, so they now form one of the most inspirational gardens in the UK.

About Alan Titchmarsh MBE

As one of the nation’s favourite gardeners, Alan Titchmarsh MBE DL HonFSE, is probably best known for his television career. Most famously he presented BBC2’s Gardeners’ World for seven years from his own garden, Barleywood in Hampshire, as well as presenting annual coverage of RHS Chelsea Flower Show on the BBC for an incredible 30-year span.

As a young boy Alan would grow plants and vegetables in his parents’ back garden; an obsession which would see him train at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and win a Gold Medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 1985 for his garden, A Country Kitchen Garden.

As a gardening expert, Alan regularly writes for BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine, has a weekly column in the Sunday Telegraph and is a gardening correspondent for the Daily Express and Sunday Express.

Visit the Estate Shop

Allow time to browse in our newly built Estate Shop during your visit, where you'll find an extensive collection of artisan products and beautiful home and garden ware.

Inspired by the gardens and The King's interests, our ranges include unique and unusual items that showcase traditional and artisan crafts from around the UK, including pieces that have been designed exclusively for Highgrove.
