About David Austin Roses

David Austin has been growing roses at their family farm in Shropshire for over 60 years. They take great care in nurturing each plant by hand until they are ready to be sold and enjoyed in gardens. Even today, most of the growing is carried out by hand, just as it was from the very beginning. Every plant they sell is hand-budded, a traditional and intricate skill carried out by experts millions of times yearly. David Austin's roses have a distinctive style and reflect one man's vision. They all have beautiful blooms and, in most cases, a wonderful fragrance on graceful and attractive shrubs. A garden filled with these outstanding roses is hard to beat for the sheer exuberance of flowers and fragrance. At the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, David Austin Roses introduced The King’s Rose™, the newest addition to their English Rose collection. This unique English Shrub Rose was named in honour of His Majesty King Charles III and was made in collaboration with The King’s Foundation.
