Commonly known as the snowdrop, Galanthus nivalis is a delicate, fragrant flower that brings the first sign of spring to the garden in late winter. Its graceful, nodding blooms feature six white, bell-shaped tepals, with the inner three delicately marked in green. Narrow, grey-green leaves complete its elegant appearance.

These small rose-pink flowers, marked with purple and white at the mouth, create a carpet of colour and have rounded silvery-green leaves. This pack of two corms holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Narcissus ‘Thalia’ is the star of the show in the Arboretum in spring with its multi-headed milk-white trumpets (producing up to four per stem). These are about 5cm across, with little cups and narrow, slightly twisted outer petals. Their strappy foliage must be left to die off for a good six weeks before being removed to allow the bulbs to continue to grow and avoid jeopardising their chance of flowering the following year.
