Begin the day with a guided nature walk through Highgrove’s gardens, followed by gentle yoga with Laura Green and a seasonal, sustainable lunch. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in a calming watercolour wellbeing workshop led by artist Lisa Gardner, inspired by the colours, textures, and atmosphere of the gardens. Through free-flowing painting techniques and simple breathing practices, this meditative session invites ease, creativity, and a deeper connection with the natural world.

All levels of yoga and creative experience are welcome.

The day will close with a peaceful moment of stillness, leaving you refreshed, grounded, and deeply connected to nature.

Nature & Self: A Highgrove Wellness Retreat

This Wellness Day workshop is a celebration of our deep, inherent connection to the natural world, offering an opportunity to rediscover the truth that we are not separate from nature; we are nature.

Experience a day of deep connection with nature, creativity, and inner stillness. Begin with a guided nature walk around the gardens at Highgrove, awakening your senses to the intricate harmony of the natural world. A gentle yoga session follows, inviting breath and movement to weave together the wisdom of nature and self.

A nourishing, seasonal lunch will be served, celebrating Highgrove’s commitment to sustainability and the earth.

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in creative expression with a watercolour wellbeing workshop. Guided by artist Lisa Gardner, this meditative art session explores free-flowing painting techniques and breathing meditations, inviting a deep sense of calm and connection. All levels of creative experience are welcome.

The day concludes with a moment of stillness, integrating the insights and inspirations gathered, a retreat into harmony, where nature and self unite.

Programme

  • 9:30 am - Arrival, introduction and refreshments
  • 10:00 am - 'Nature Immersion in Highgrove Gardens Healing and Resonance' - A 60-minute guided experience through Highgrove Gardens will follow, with facilitated activities to awaken the senses and deepen our connection to the natural world. Experience the symphony of the elements and savour beauty in every form, from the simplest leaf to the grandeur of the landscape.
  • 11:15 am - ‘Flowing with Nature: Yoga in Harmony’ - Returning to a serene indoor space, you will flow through a yoga session inspired by the walk. This practice embodies harmony with nature, weaving together movement and breath. A gentle flowing yoga practice, suitable for a wide range of experiences, but you will need to be able to get up and down from the floor with ease.
  • 1:00 pm - A nourishing, seasonal lunch will be served in the Garden Room, celebrating Highgrove’s commitment to sustainability and the earth.
  • 2:00 pm - ‘Watercolour Wellbeing’ - In the afternoon, channel your experience into creativity during a watercolour wellbeing workshop inspired by a mindful walk through the gardens. This meditative art session offers a chance to reflect on the beauty of nature and express it in personal, heartfelt ways. Watercolour Wellbeing explores free-flowing painting techniques and breathing meditations to nurture creativity and inspire calm. All levels of creative experience are welcome.
  • 4:00 pm - The day concludes with a guided pause, allowing you to integrate the insights and connections made throughout your journey. In this final act of stillness, we honour the harmony between nature and self, leaving you feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and in tune with the world around you.
  • 4:30 pm - Closing, depart for home after a beautiful day at Highgrove.

    *Please note that guests will need to bring their own yoga mat and suitable clothes for doing yoga, walking, and painting. All other materials will be provided.

About Laura

The yoga session is hosted by international yoga teacher, Laura Green.

Laura is a yoga teacher and musician devoted to helping others reconnect with their true nature through presence, embodied movement, and sacred connection. With a lifelong passion for nature and its rhythms, her teaching inspires harmony, balance, and a deep, profound sense of belonging to the natural world.

About Lisa

The watercolour session will be hosted by Plantlife’s inaugural Artist in Residence, Lisa Gardner.

Lisa is a watercolour artist and environmental advocate whose work highlights the delicate beauty of wildflower meadows and grassland ecosystems. As Plantlife’s inaugural Artist in Residence, Lisa uses her art to inspire connection with nature, championing the preservation of endangered species and habitats through creative expression. Lisa creates artwork under the name Iris Hill.

  • This event is suitable for all levels with no experience necessary.
  • Guests will not be admitted without a valid ticket.
  • Tickets cannot be exchanged, refunded, or replaced. The resale, alteration, or defacing of a ticket will render it void.
  • Guests are required to bring photographic identification (i.e., a passport, driving license, or bus pass). Alternatively, a bank card is acceptable.
