with Alexandra Stewart Carter

Friday 11th and Saturday 12th September 2026

Product Code:

Join Alexandra Stewart Carter for a two-day creative workshop at Highgrove Gardens.

Spend two inspiring days at Highgrove Gardens, where artist Alexandra Stewart Carter will show you how to do decoupage under glass. This relaxed, hands-on workshop lets you slow down, get creative, and turn simple glass pieces into something special with colour, pattern, and imagination.

Using easy techniques and expert guidance, you’ll design, paint, and finish your own unique decorations. Take in the inspiration and calm of Highgrove’s gardens as you work.

Each day starts with refreshments and includes a two-course lunch. There’s plenty of time to relax and chat. At the end, you can celebrate with a glass of fizz and admire your finished work.

Whether you’re new to decoupage or want to build on your skills, this two-day workshop offers a relaxed and rewarding creative experience at Highgrove Gardens. Book your place today and start your creative journey.

Please note, this is a two-day workshop.

About Alexandra Stewart Carter

The true joy of Alexandra’s work lies in creating one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect her clients’ personalities. Each commission begins with inspiration, colours, animals, patterns, moods, and occasions that gradually evolve into something deeply personal for both maker and recipient.

Alexandra’s creative career in traditional arts spans more than twenty years. With a background in fine art framing and decorative marbling, she developed her skills through a decade of hands-on experience with master artisans. Her love of antiques led her naturally into framing, where she discovered the intricate beauty of gilding, faux painting, and woodcraft.

Today, decoupage under glass is Alexandra’s artistic focus, blending her passion for heritage techniques with modern creative expression. She continues framing the exquisite oil paintings of her daughter, Phoebe Stewart Carter, a talented fine art painter in her own right.

Working from her home studio in Tetbury, at the heart of the Cotswolds, Alexandra crafts each piece amidst the region’s rich history of fine art and antiques.
