Woodland Fly Agaric Brooch: Hand Embroidery Jewellery Workshop (One-Day)

WITH ELIZA GOMERSALL

Saturday 3rd October | Sunday 4th October 2026

£165.00

Discover the art of goldwork embroidery in this one-day jewellery-making workshop led by renowned embroidery artist Eliza Gomersall. Designed for those with some basic embroidery experience, this hands-on course introduces traditional techniques while guiding you in creating a unique, wearable piece.

Inspired by the iconic fly agaric mushroom found on the woodland floor, the design draws on nature’s rich textures and symbolism. Often associated with balance and interconnected ecosystems, the fly agaric provides a striking and meaningful motif, interpreted here through intricate stitchwork and layered materials.

Also included in this workshop is a two-course lunch served in the Garden Room.

Please note, this is a one-day workshop

A creative day of embroidery

Using traditional goldwork techniques, you will craft a detailed fly agaric brooch, built with felt padding, bullion wire and beads to achieve a textured, three-dimensional finish. Once complete, your embroidery will be mounted as a wearable brooch.

Throughout the day, Eliza will demonstrate each stage, offering guidance and support as you develop your skills. You can select from a range of colourways to personalise your design.

All materials are provided, including a pre-transferred design so you can begin stitching straight away, along with a stitch guide and reference materials to continue your work at home. There is no expectation to finish the piece during the session; the focus is on learning techniques and enjoying the process.
