This glossy photographic postcard displays the spectacular Carpet Garden, one of the spectacular areas of the private gardens at Highgrove, the private home of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.
The Prince of Wales took inspiration for this Garden from a Turkish-style carpet at Highgrove House. He wanted to translate the geometric shapes and colours in the carpet into a living garden. The Carpet Garden's Eastern style is echoed by the ceramics placed by the plantings, which are mostly Eastern in origin. In June, this Garden is filled with the intoxicating scent of orange blossom, while the main body of colour is provided by roses.
