Craft is at the very heart of British identity, from stained-glass windows in country churches to the Enid Blyton charm of thatched houses; from Harris Tweed (R) (famously poached by Coco Chanel) to the ceremonial livery worn by horses at Buckingham Palace. The burgeoning of digital craftsmanship is also enriching ground-breaking technologies, including microbial weaving and bespoke-made vessels for growing human tissue. Craft Britain brings together watchmakers with saddlers; bell casters with neon benders; shoemakers with silversmiths; potters with orrery-makers; stonemasons with weavers; embroiderers with basket-makers - and a myriad other craft traditions. This book aims to beat the drum for craft, waking people up to the fact that they need to support the country's rich seam of incredible craftspeople and so encourage new generations to master the skills needed to preserve and continue craft traditions. Craft Britain proves that craftsmanship in Britain is neither dying nor dead, but is a continuing and exciting exploration of process, materials and ideas spanning architecture, interiors, fashion, art and design

Well-known for their energetic behaviour, this pair of “dancing” hares, will bring a touch of the British countryside into your garden.
These sculptures are hand-crafted by talented artist Emma Stothard, who was able to start up her business with a loan from The Prince’s Trust. She was invited by His Majesty The King to exhibit her willow sculptures, including these dancing hares, on the Orchard Lawns at Highgrove.
Sculpted from British willow, interwoven with wire and bronze wire and shaped around a steel armature, the contrasting willow colours in these sculptures create form and definition. Each sculpture is finished with a coating of linseed oil and turpentine solution to preserve and protect it.

Add a touch of elegance to your garden with this bronze dragonfly wire sculpture. Perfect for placing next to a water feature, bird bath, or pond, it glistens beautifully in the sunlight, attracting insects and wildlife to your outdoor sanctuary.
Handcrafted Artistry by Emma Stothard: This unique sculpture is meticulously handcrafted by Emma Stothard, a renowned willow and wire weaving artist. Emma launched her successful business with the support of The Prince's Trust and has had the honour of showcasing her work at the prestigious Orchard Lawns at Highgrove, as invited by His Majesty The King.
Quality Craftsmanship and Materials: Crafted from high-quality drawn phosphor bronze wire sourced from Birmingham, UK, the sculpture starts with heavier gauges to establish the form, followed by finer gauges for intricate detailing. Emma employs traditional techniques, using her hands and pliers to nip, pinch, and twist the wire, ensuring a close-knit and durable piece.
A Timeless Garden Accent: The bronze wire's rich finish, strength, and flexibility make it Emma's preferred material. Over time, the bronze naturally develops a warm patina, blending seamlessly into its surroundings and enhancing the sculpture's beauty.
This bronze dragonfly wire sculpture is a testament to enduring craftsmanship and natural beauty.

These beautiful stud-fastened earrings form part of the Tahima jewellery collection, named after a princess in the epic Shahnameh poem and celebrating Afghan tradition and culture. These earrings feature flowers and malachite gemstones inspired by the decoration of Afghanistan's Noh Gunbad mosque and are a beautiful sight to behold. They echo the hand-carved stucco that decorates the mosque's columns and archways, while the semi-precious stones reflect the colours used in its adornment.
To complete the outfit, pair with the Green Friya Flower Necklace.

Transform your garden pond with this enchanting frog bronze wire sculpture. Perfectly poised to watch over the visiting wildlife, this charming piece will capture the attention of all who see it.
Handcrafted by Emma Stothard: This sculpture is a creation of Emma Stothard, a skilled willow and wire weaving artist. Emma's journey began with a loan from The Prince's Trust, and her talent has been recognised with an invitation from His Majesty The King to exhibit at the prestigious Orchard Lawns at Highgrove.
Expert Craftsmanship and Premium Materials: The frog sculpture is meticulously crafted from high-quality drawn phosphor bronze wire sourced from Birmingham, UK. Emma starts with heavier gauges to define the sculpture's form and then adds finer gauges for detailed work. Using traditional techniques, she nips, pinches, and twists the wire by hand to achieve a close-knit, durable structure.
Timeless Garden Elegance: The rich finish, strength, and flexibility of the bronze wire make it Emma's preferred material. Over time, the bronze will develop a warm patina, blending naturally into your garden and enhancing the sculpture's beauty.
Elevate your outdoor space with this frog bronze wire sculpture, a perfect blend of nature-inspired artistry and timeless appeal.
