Meet Clarence, the Irish Moiled cow – one of the rarest cattle breeds originating from Ireland. Clarence has been hand-crafted in association with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust whose purpose is to secure the continued existence and viability of the native farm animal.

Hand-crafted by talented artist Emma Stothard, who was able to start up her business with a loan from The Prince’s Trust, was invited by His Majesty The King to exhibit her willow sculptures on the Orchard Lawns at Highgrove.

Sculpted from British willow, interwoven with wire and bronze wire and shaped around a steel armature, the contrasting willow colours in Clarence the Irish Moiled cow create form and definition. Each sculpture is finished with a coating of linseed oil and turpentine solution to preserve and protect it.
