Quality Craftsmanship and Materials: Crafted from high-quality drawn phosphor bronze wire sourced from Birmingham, UK, the sculpture starts with heavier gauges to establish the form, followed by finer gauges for intricate detailing. Emma employs traditional techniques, using her hands and pliers to nip, pinch, and twist the wire, ensuring a close-knit and durable piece.

A Timeless Garden Accent: The bronze wire's rich finish, strength, and flexibility make it Emma's preferred material. Over time, the bronze naturally develops a warm patina, blending seamlessly into its surroundings and enhancing the sculpture's beauty.

This “come-bye” scene features three Cotswold ewes, two lambs, and a Collie dog, expertly handcrafted by talented artist Emma Stothard from British willow interweaved with wire.

Considered an at-risk breed, these Cotswold sheep willow sculptures are influenced by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust whose purpose is to secure the continued existence and viability of the native farm animal.

Emma Stothard was able to start up her business with a loan from The Prince’s Trust and was invited by His Majesty to exhibit her willow sculptures, including these Cotswold sheep, on the Orchard Lawns at Highgrove.

The contrasting willow colours in these sculptures create form and definition. Each sculpture is finished with a coating of linseed oil and turpentine solution to preserve and protect it.
