The Highgrove Visor is a contemporary reimagining of the traditional bonnet silhouette, blending timeless elegance with sustainable craftsmanship. Designed by milliner Emily Hurst, this elegant visor draws inspiration from the natural beauty of Highgrove Gardens, where light and shadow play in the stumpery.

Handcrafted with exceptional care, the visor features a base of T’nalak, a banana-fibre textile handwoven by the T’boli people of the Philippines. Emily hand weaves the front panel herself from over 130 individually split and woven wheat straw splints, creating a delicate surface that captures the glisten of dappled sunlight. This pairing of heritage Philippine weaving with Emily’s hand-stitched straw panel results in a unique accessory that celebrates both cultural artistry and the rhythms of the natural world.

The design is finished with cotton sateen lining, grosgrain detailing, and an adjustable bow tie fastening, ensuring both comfort and versatility. Each piece is carefully steamed, pressed, and inspected to guarantee both form and integrity.

Originally designed during The King’s Foundation Métiers d’Art Fellowship in collaboration with CHANEL, The Highgrove Visor honours heritage skills while offering an effortlessly modern, ready-to-wear statement piece—perfect for garden gatherings, countryside escapes, and warm summer days.
