Emma Bridgewater is the founder and owner of the classic, modern pottery brand Emma Bridgewater.

Emma founded the company in 1985 after going shopping for two cup and saucer gifts for her late mother and being unable to find anything that wasn't either dainty and formal or robust and decidedly unromantic, so she decided to make her own.

Since then, the company has created many iconic hand-painted ceramicware designs that capture the imagination whilst remaining true to the spirit that everyday kitchen china sits right at the centre of our lives.

They have a factory and shop in Stoke-on-Trent selling ceramics, homeware and accessories, personalised gifts, and even wallpaper and fabrics, all with the same fun and imaginative designs as when they first began. Their ceramics are also available in well-known stores like Fortnum & Mason, Liberty London, and John Lewis.

Emma Bridgewater has played a major role in reviving the ceramics industry in Stoke-on-Trent. Thirty five years after its foundation, every mug is still made and decorated by hand in their Staffordshire factory.
