Handcrafted by Eliza Gomersall exclusively for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, this hand-embroidered brooch celebrates The King’s Rose, first launched by David Austin Roses at Chelsea in 2025.

Delicately constructed from three individually crafted layers of petals, each piece is cut from silk habotai and hand-painted to capture the rose’s distinctive white and blush-pink variegation. Every petal is finished with silk couched wire edging, allowing the layers to blend beautifully and create a soft, natural movement.

At the centre of the bloom sits a gold rhinestone surrounded by 24kt gold-plated Miyuki seed beads and soft pink lustre beads, echoing the intricate beauty of the flower itself. The petals are hand-shaped and mounted on a double layer of wool felt for both structure and softness, then finished with a sterling silver pin and artist tag.

A wearable piece of craftsmanship, this brooch embodies both the intricacy of embroidery and the timeless symbolism of one of Britain’s most celebrated flowers.

In July 2023, Eliza completed The Chanel and The King’s Foundation Métiers d’Art Embroidery Fellowship in partnership with le19M, where she refined her expertise in couture techniques. Her work with acclaimed fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen, Patrick McDowell, and Turnbull & Asser has continued to shape her meticulous approach to design and craftsmanship.
