The Highgrove 'Garden Monuments' 1/2 Pint Mug is an English earthenware mug made by Emma Bridgewater exclusively for Highgrove. Illustrated by author and artist Matthew Rice, it celebrates the gardens His Majesty The King has created at Highgrove, near Tetbury in Gloucestershire, since 1980.

A charming wrap-around illustration takes you on a walk through the gardens. Highgrove House sits alongside beloved garden areas, including the Stumpery and the Thyme Walk, and the features visitors remember long after a tour: the Tree House, the Beehive and the Dovecote. Each is drawn in Matthew Rice's distinctive, finely observed style, so every cup offers something new to notice.

Inside the rim, a delicate border features The King’s Rose, the English shrub rose bred by David Austin Roses and launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2025. Named in honour of His Majesty The King and created in support of The King's Foundation, it is the first striped rose from David Austin.

Each mug is made at the Emma Bridgewater factory in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of English pottery. It is crafted from cream-coloured English earthenware, using clay sourced from Devon, Cornwall and Wales. The illustration is applied using a traditional lithographic technique. A glaze is first applied to the biscuit, the once-fired, unglazed clay, and fired in the kiln, before the patterned transfer is carefully placed by hand onto each piece.

Holding 300ml, the mug is generously sized for morning coffee or afternoon tea, and looks as handsome on a kitchen dresser as it does in daily use. A celebration of Highgrove, English craftsmanship and the gardens themselves, it makes a thoughtful souvenir of a visit, or a gift for gardeners, Emma Bridgewater collectors and anyone who holds Highgrove close to their heart.

Sales of Highgrove products support the charitable work of The King's Foundation, which provides education and training opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
