Highgrove and The King's Foundation have collaborated with Johnstons of Elgin to create ‘The Highgrove Heritage Scarf.’ Inspired by The Campaign for Wool’s 10th Anniversary Scarf, which was conceived by His Majesty The King.

The Highgrove Heritage Scarf’ launched in early October in time for The Campaign for Wool’s 11th anniversary and coincided with the London Craft Week where it had its debut.

Sustainably sourced with complete wool traceability, the Heritage Scarf is made from 100% ultrafine RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) merino wool. The design takes the form of the iconic Prince of Wales check, which has been woven over an enlarged Shepherd check. The Shepherd check was originally coloured from undyed wool using a colour palette of black, dark browns and whites. From the initial wool clip, it is woven into shawls which were then worn by the Border shepherds. 

The next of the original checks to be designed was the Prince of Wales, invented by King Edward VII while spending time in Scotland, where he held the title Prince of Wales.

Both designs have been incorporated into this modern interpretation, along with the introduction of a warm honey colour inspired by the Highgrove Gardens and a bee emblem that has been part of the Johnstons of Elgin company since the 1930s. The bee represents the mills' busy workforce, which currently stands at 1,000 people. From apprentices to artisans and innovators, all have been honing these rare textile skills for over 40 years.

A classic breakfast-style tea, our Prince of Wales blend can be served with or without milk. To enjoy at its best, heat freshly drawn water to 100°C. Use one and a half teaspoons per person and allow to brew for five minutes.

Drizzle this runny honey over crusty bread or porridge to add a ray of sunshine to your day! Produced from pollen collected by the royal bees at Highgrove, it’s a wonderfully flowery and sweet combination.

Throughout the summer, the bees can be found feeding on the sweet nectar of the flowers and the rich pastures of the Highgrove Estate. The bees reside in an old paddock, protected by Hawthorn hedges, and bounce up over the top of these on their journey to the clover fields.

Presented in a glass jar with our new design label, the honey is a fitting tribute to His Majesty The King’s gardens and his passion for natural, sustainable gardening.

Add a taste of Highgrove to your morning breakfast with our delightful springtime honey. A bittersweet honey, it’s perfect for swirling into your tea or drizzling over your porridge.

Gathered in the orchards at Highgrove, our honey is produced from pollen collected by the estate’s treasured royal bees. During springtime, the bees come alive and the new queen emerges from the hives. Together, they forage on the terrific pollen and nectar of the garden’s hawthorn flowers and fruit trees.

Our limited-edition cloudy organic apple juice is the perfect breakfast accompaniment or anytime refreshment. Made from a blend of old English heritage apples hand-picked from The Orchard on the Highgrove Estate, which contains some of the oldest and rarest apple trees in the country.

This sweet and tart damson liqueur is made every autumn with organic damsons grown in a West Country orchard. The Highgrove Estate's liqueur is a revelation. Tart damsons are picked at the right point to ensure the resulting liqueur is smooth, full-flavoured, and sweet. Best enjoyed by a roaring fire or perhaps from a hip flask on a chilly day.

A stone transom sits above the entrance to the Azalea Walk in the Gardens at Highgrove which bears the inscription, 'The flowers in the garden are a reflection of the stars in the sky’. This inspirational quote has now been recreated on our terracotta wall tile, suitable for indoors or outdoors and produced in the World Heritage city of Bath by a family-run pottery.

Using a unique process, clay is pressed into an intricate mould, designed exclusively for Highgrove. The resulting ceramic is very durable and will last a lifetime when handled with care.
